SESL Australia is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist with a range of industry experience inclusive of contaminated land assessment and remediation.
We are in need of an individual to operate autonomously as our ACT project manager, supporting our growing client relations in the Australian Capital Territory
through face-to-face consultation.
This role would include flexible working arrangement and is WFH compatible*
SESL Australia's consulting scientists work on a diverse range of complex projects across Australia and internationally. We partner with both public and private sector clients including variously tiered construction companies, engineering and environmental firms, urban and landscape designers, recycling and resource recovery managers, composters, artificial soil producers, sports-field maintenance operators and agricultural producers.
Responsibilities
This role will involve using your technical skills and knowledge on a wide variety of projects for both public and private sector clients including:

Executing on-ground field works at contaminated sites involving the collection of soil, sediment, surface and groundwater samples and supervision of contractors.

Project scoping, proposal writing and fieldwork preparation.

Undertaking all works consistent with our safety values, systems and procedures.

Evaluating and distilling field and analytical data.

Preparing scientific and technical reports.

Working as part of a broad team to help solve complex environmental issues.

Laboratory investigation.
Requirements

Ability to project manage & coordinate SESL's ACT clients.

Drive to actively work toward expanding our client base for ACT.

Effective written and oral communication skills and the aptitude to confidently liaise with project teams, subcontractors and clients.

Safety leadership in the field and commitment to adopting behavioural based safety programs.

A passion for field-based project work including soil and groundwater sampling, contractor supervision and safety management.
Qualification & Experience

A relevant degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Geology or Earth Sciences.

Minimum 3-5 years of related professional experience in Contaminated Land Investigations and Remediation.

Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in Environmental Consulting

Strong technical knowledge in Contaminated Land Legislation

A certified CEnvP (SC)- Desirable.
